I had to stop working on editing images for a few minutes to post this E-Session. It’s been a while since my last time shooting on the Islands. I love that old engagement session so much, I thought it would be pretty hard to top that (you can check it out over here). To my surprise, these engagement photos are so different from each other that I can’t even compare them – just love them both equally!

Lo and Chris were such a fun and easy couple to photograph! They decided to bring their dog to the shoot and although I did work with some dogs walking down the aisle, this was actually my first e-session with a pet. :)

Congrats on your engagement, Lo and Chris! Can’t wait for your wedding next year! ♥

Something I’d like to address quickly: I just got a message from a dear client asking me if I didn’t like their pictures because they couldn’t find their session on my blog. Since I get this question every now and then, I just want to make it clear that I don’t post all my work here. We’re in June and I already shot tons of families/couples/weddings/etc – I can’t find time to blog/Facebook them all. The truth is I don’t take clients that I know won’t match/like with my style of photography so there’s no way I wouldn’t love a picture I take. As of now, I have lots of images I wanted to upload to my portfolio. Every time I upload a new picture to my portfolio, I have to delete some of the old ones and that breaks my heart as well. :/

I’ve been really busy this month, but I hate to leave the blog with no new posts. And when I say busy, I mean it. I just came back from work and, this week, I’m shooting every single day till next Sunday. This means I’m taking pictures 9 days in a row! Still I can’t really complain – I got to do what I love and there will be plenty of time to rest during the winter. I’m actually writing this post while I export some wedding images on Lightroom. :)

This is Shannon and Graham’s E-Session – we started at the UofT and finished our day at the Humber Bridge – two favorites of mine! Although we spent more time than planned sitting in traffic and got to the Lake Shore way after we were supposed to, we still got lots of great shots over there. Do I need to say how much I loved Shannon’s dress? Gorgeous bride-to-be and I’m extremely excited to be shooting their wedding this Fall at the King Edward Hotel!

Loved shooting this e-session! Michelle and Colin were the sweetest couple ever. Interesting that Michelle thought she wasn’t photogenic and I could really tell she was worried about it. As you can see, she couldn’t be further from the truth!

Colin was really good making Michelle smile and I must say I’m really lucky to get nice grooms-to-be most of the time. In the end, I can tell couples what to do during their e-shoot, but it’s up to the couple to make the “magic” happens. It’s funny that during my meetings EVERYBODY stops on the same picture from my wedding album sample saying how they love that particular photo (one couple’s first dance) and, the thing is, YOU gotta give me that moment. And that was exactly what Colin and Michelle did: I told them all the poses they were supposed to do, and it works so well because they look so in love. I call that chemistry. :)

Oh… and this was my first engagement shoot here in Whitby! Although I have many couples getting married that live around (thanks to Aileen and Brandon!), all of them choose to have their engagement pictures done in Toronto. It was great working 5 min away from home! :)

Really excited about their wedding this August!

I think it’s about time I post some of my favorite engagement sessions here since it’s been a while. This is Hayley and David’s E-Session and, interesting fact… this is actually when I first met them. :)

I always say you have to meet the photographer you’re hiring to shoot your wedding to make sure you guys click, but that was not possible for Hayley and David since they don’t live in Canada anymore. Even though her mom was pretty sure we would get along, I must say I was a bit worried about that. Besides liking your photographer’s style, you also need to be comfortable with him/her and that’s why pre-consultations are so important.

But her mom was completely right – they were such a cute couple with a lot of chemistry and I had so much fun working with them! Now I really can’t wait for their big day at the Eglinton Grand this summer. :)

Another year goes by… and what a year! I’ve never been so busy. Thanks everybody for allowing me to work with what I’m passionate about. I really love creating beautiful memories for you to keep.

Happy Holidays and I hope to see you next year! :)

This photo shoot is to show you don’t need to wait till Spring/Summer to get your pictures taken – even if you are not a fan of the cold weather!

This past summer I shot baby Alice’s first birthday – Mari and Leo liked my work so much that they decided to book another photo shoot. They didn’t want pictures on a park or in the city, but in their bedroom! I loved the idea – different from everything else I’ve done and it truly feels cozy and intimate.

This first part I’m focusing on the couple and giving you some sneak peeks of the family shoot. Stay tuned for part II, where I’ll focus on their lovely girls – Helena and Alice.

And well, do I even need to say they are already planning another photo shoot? ;)

This is Rachel and Mike – what a cute couple! I’ve been really lucky this year – getting all these good-looking couples! We decided to shoot this e-session at many different locations around downtown – must say that it was pretty hot that day. Good thing most locations we picked had air conditioning!

Our shoot started at the Union Station and from there we went to all interesting places we could find. We all have to agree that Rachel looks STUNNING in that pink dress – can’t wait to see her in white! I’m sure she’ll look amazing.

Our shoot ended at the Habourfront Centre for some more casual shots. It was crazy parking and walking around – could that place be any more crowded? Now I remembered why I usually tell couples Habourfront is a no-no unless we go during sunrising. Of course, I totally forgot with all these weddings happening this past month, but we were able to get some really cute shots. Please enjoy!

You guys should know how these blog posts come together. Usually, after editing all your pictures, resizing them, uploading them to your online gallery, making your DVD and e-mailing you about it, I’ll start choosing images for my blog. I’ll upload all images I want and then I just leave the post with no text, as a draft – if you’re not familiar with the blog world, this means you won’t be able to see posts that are drafts.

And although everybody gets a “draft” on my blog, not everybody goes “live”. It’s not because I didn’t like the photo session, it’s just that since I’m editing your pictures during the weekdays and, as soon as I’m done with your photo session, there’s another shoot to edit, it’s really hard to find time to write a text for all these drafts. I tried not writing a text for some posts and I just don’t like how the blog looks like with no text (and it also seems I don’t care).

Some of these drafts are soo old that it doesn’t make sense to post them anymore. Sometimes, because I don’t remember the story of the people I worked with, sometimes because I already have a brand new photo session at that same location, sometimes because I do focus more on couples and weddings here, so families photo sessions almost never make it to the blog.

I’m talking about this because these past days I started cleaning up the blog and I decided to browse through some posts that were actually published. Then I just started wondering about all these faces I’ve seen: do they already have a baby?; he must be such a cute toddler by now!; I wish I had more e-sessions on different locations like this one; will she make it to Hollywood?; etc, etc. I meet so many people every year and I can only imagine where they are now.

That’s not the case for Levente and Rachelle. I will be shooting their wedding next month so I still get to see them again. :)

They chose the Distillery District as their E-Session location and although I already lost count of how many times I’ve been there, I still love that place. It has everything a photographer could ask for – there’s so much to look at that I still find places I have never used before. I’m completely in love with these images!

Everyday I take Melody to a park close to my place. Yes, the joys of being a photographer: I can work at home and make my own schedule. Of course, life is not a bed of roses: while everybody is chilling on weekends, I’m out working. I can’t complain, I’m paid to do something I love. Time flies while I’m at it. But I think it’s pretty obvious that I do miss my little girl every minute I’m out. And although I get to spend my weekdays at home, I’m still in front of the computer looking at thousands of pictures.

Going back to that park I was talking about – one of these days I noticed a bunch of teenagers talking, laughing, close to where we were. And all of sudden it hit me: I am getting old. When did that happen?! When I had a job from 9-5 I used to be the youngest of everybody. Now I get to shoot Bar Mitzvahs, sweet 16s and I just feel O-L-D. I definitely have to replace my Junk Food t-shirts for some more serious wardrobe soon. It’s funny when I look at the mirror I still see that 18 year old girl, but I must have gotten old, I’m sure. I just don’t notice the wrinkles. I wonder if that happens to everybody.

Anyways… here we have Bryan and Pareesa (just love the sound of that name!). They look like they came out from a clothing catalog – so cute! They match, but it’s not that obvious match. It just looks good. I recently posted a winter shoot from the Brick Works, so you might feel a bit of deja vu seeing these images. ;)

This winter has been quite warm and I totally forgot how it felt to shoot during the freezing cold! We postponed this photo shoot a couple of times waiting for snow to come with no luck at all. So we just decided we would pick a day and shoot it anyways. And what happened? It snowed! A WHOLE LOT! It was awesome for the pictures and I’m really glad I had my gloves in my backpack, otherwise I would have to cut this e-session short.

Despite the cold, I had a lot of fun shooting this e-session. They are such a cute couple and Jennifer had this awesome idea of going to an ice rink!! I can’t wait for their wedding day! :)

And just letting you know, my blog probably won’t have any updates for the next month – I’ll be crazy busy editing some weddings from this February and then I’m off to South America to shoot another wedding! Yes, I am going to warm Rio de Janeiro to shoot one of my best friends wedding.

Although I would love to post more stuff from 2011, there is a high chance that if your photo session was shot last year and it hasn’t been published so far, I won’t be posting it here anymore – mainly because they are not in my computer anymore and I just don’t have time to go through my DVDs. Oh, I wish I had more hours in my day! I know I’ve been a bit lazy when it comes to updating the blog with non-wedding/couples material, so if you’re coming to this blog searching for maternity, kids and babies photo shoots, I suggest heading to my Facebook Fan Page. Not everybody gets featured in here, but I do post more pictures over there. Even from e-sessions/weddings that I didn’t get the chance to post on the blog.
