Really enjoyed spending time with Wilmar and David! Such a sweet couple. Can’t wait for their wedding this Summer!

I must say I’m still a fan of pictures by the lake, can’t get tired of it. Whenever I can, I try to persuade couples into splitting their shoot between wherever they want and somewhere else w/ sand, water and, if we’re lucky, a nice sunset. And I’ll tell you they never regret it.

5 minutes away from Cherry Beach is the Distillery District. Even though they were holding a festival on that day and the place was completely packed with tents and people, we managed to get some great shots over there as well.

Let me share my favorites with you! :)

Even though I’m always at Edward Gardens working with families, I’ve never had a couple asking for an engagement shoot over there. And I’ll be honest, it was great taking a break from editing Distillery District/Brickworks photos – the two most popular locations among lovebirds.

The amazing light and super cute couple were a great finish to a very busy Sunday! Hanaa and Asher were really good at posing and being comfortable around each other. Our shoot was such a breeze that Hanaa was able to change THREE times. :)

Congrats on your engagement, Hanaa and Asher. Can’t wait for your wedding this summer!

So this is Erin and Mark’s E-Session at the Toronto Islands last month. I love that place and I wish more couples would choose to go there. I love the ferry ride, the island, the amusement park, everything! I have to be honest, I’m really over engagement shoots at the Distillery District and Brickworks – those backgrounds are amazing but I’ve just been there too many times. To people that actually read what I write and asked me to have their shoot over these places: don’t take it personally – I’ve been there too many times but you haven’t, so I totally understand if you guys want to have your shoot there.

Anyways, back to Erin and Mark, if I could describe this couple in one word, that would be “real”. And I just love that! This is what I want to shoot – real couples, real people. I love how genuine these images feel. I already know I’ll have a blast at their wedding next year at the Distillery District – yes, I just said I’m tired of engagement shoots there, but I do love their wedding venues!

Most of the times I’m the one that suggests places to shoot an Engagement Session and very rarely I get to go somewhere I’ve never been before. These two knew about this unique location in Toronto and decided to have their shoot there. Amazing place and I’m pretty sure some other couple will want to have their pictures taken over there in the near future.

A while ago I shot one of my favorites E-Sessions on a place I absolutely loved and, apparently, more people did. Every time some client asked me where that was I just took them and then, in my eyes, that dreamy cliff didn’t seem so dreamy anymore… I don’t know why. This time I pinky promise I won’t be telling everybody where this hidden gem is so they’re the only ones with these images. :)

I had to stop working on editing images for a few minutes to post this E-Session. It’s been a while since my last time shooting on the Islands. I love that old engagement session so much, I thought it would be pretty hard to top that (you can check it out over here). To my surprise, these engagement photos are so different from each other that I can’t even compare them – just love them both equally!

Lo and Chris were such a fun and easy couple to photograph! They decided to bring their dog to the shoot and although I did work with some dogs walking down the aisle, this was actually my first e-session with a pet. :)

Congrats on your engagement, Lo and Chris! Can’t wait for your wedding next year! ♥

I think it’s about time I post some of my favorite engagement sessions here since it’s been a while. This is Hayley and David’s E-Session and, interesting fact… this is actually when I first met them. :)

I always say you have to meet the photographer you’re hiring to shoot your wedding to make sure you guys click, but that was not possible for Hayley and David since they don’t live in Canada anymore. Even though her mom was pretty sure we would get along, I must say I was a bit worried about that. Besides liking your photographer’s style, you also need to be comfortable with him/her and that’s why pre-consultations are so important.

But her mom was completely right – they were such a cute couple with a lot of chemistry and I had so much fun working with them! Now I really can’t wait for their big day at the Eglinton Grand this summer. :)
